The Wellgate was cleared after the fire alarm sounded at about 3.25pm. A fire and rescue appliance from Blackness Road was called to the scene. A spokesman for the service said: “It was just a false alarm. We sent the second from Blackness. We got the call at 3.23pm.” The shopping centre is open as normal. A spokesman for the Wellgate Centre said the situation was dealt with quickly.
