Families are gearing up for an annual charity cycle which circles the city.
The Dundee Cyclathon, a family-friendly fundraising event organised by Rotary Club of Claverhouse, will see more than 400 participants pedal their way round the 26-mile city circumference this weekend.
Now in its 16th year, more than £250,000 has been raised for a number of local good causes and Dundee City Council has once again offered to underwrite the event costs, meaning more of the money raised can be handed to charity.
Setting off on Sunday at Camperdown, riders will make their way round the city’s Green Circular route before returning to the grounds of the historic park.
This year, four-year-old Saira Malik will join her brothers Kiyan, 14, Haris, 12, sister Laila, 7, mum Tara and dad Iqbal on her first Cyclathon adventure.
The older Maliks first took part in the event last year and mum Tara said it was a great way for all the family to have fun and keep healthy.
She said: “The Cyclathon is a really good day out for all the family, we really enjoyed it last year and we’re looking forward to it again now.

“It’s not a race so there is no pressure but you get to enjoy the great outdoors and give the kids a bit of a challenge.
“If we can all do it, I hope more people will feel they can give it a go too.”
Families can register to take part in the event for £25 if booked before Sunday, or can sign up on the day for £30.
Terminal illness support charity Marie Curie has been chosen as the main beneficiary of the event and participants also have the option of fundraising for their own selected charity.
Marie Curie patron Petra McMillan said: “Cycling is a huge sport in the UK now – suitable for all ages and abilities – and last year we had a terrific turnout.
“The Maliks are an inspiration and we hope Dundee residents will be inspired by their story and get involved.
“If little Saira can do it, what excuse do we have? Fundraising is entirely optional and we are very grateful to anyone who chooses to make a donation or raise sponsorship for our wonderful nursing service in the process.”
