A fleet of military helicopters have paid a surprise visit to Dundee Airport.
The three Merlins were spotted refuelling at the city’s terminal on Thursday night ahead of a flypast on the Firth of Forth today.
They are said to be part of a fleet which includes Sea Kings and Hawk jets that was sent to Scotland from RNAS Culdrose ahead of the naming ceremony for the HMS Prince of Wales.

It comes after locals in Angus began spotting military aircraft in the skies this week as a Royal Air Force (RAF) training exercise got underway.
It has been running all week and is being supported by 845 Naval Air Squadron, part of the Commando Helicopter Force, which is based in Yeovilton in Somerset.
