Scottish Cup punters are expected to bet more than £1 million on this weekend’s Dundee United versus Hibernian clash.
According to William Hill the massive sum will be staked in the run up to the semi-final match, with the Arabs pegged at Evens to progress to the showpiece final.
In contrast, the Old Firm cup tie between Celtic and Rangers is predicted to bring in a £4m betting haul, with the Hoops 4/6 favourites to take the win.
A total of 72% of all bets on the United/Hibs fixture have been placed on a win for the Edinburgh side.
William Hill revealed some large wagers have already been put down, with a bet of £6,900 on Rangers and a £4,500 bet on Celtic.
Firm spokesman Tony Kenny said: “They are two cracking semi-finals but Rangers v Celtic is, without doubt, the biggest of the two.
“The majority of people in Scotland will be watching the Old Firm clash on Sunday and we’re expecting to see record betting and viewing figures on the game.”
