A dog walker has been struck on the head by a man congregating in woods near Ninewells Hospital.
The incident, described as a “completely unprovoked assault”, occurred on Thursday afternoon just before one o’clock.
Following the random assault, the attacker fled, heading towards Clayhills Drive and Perth Road.
A Police Scotland spokesperson confirmed: “He is described as possibly in his mid 20s, 5ft 9 in height and slim to medium build, wearing a grey hooded top with the hood up and dark jogging bottoms.
“It is thought that he had been hanging around the area for some time prior to the incident.
