Police are searching for 15-year-old William Dixon, who has not been seen since Thursday morning.
William was last seen near Harris Academy at 9am on Thursday and was wearing a maroon Harris school blazer, school tie, white shirt, black Nike trainers and a black Nike school bag.
Early on Friday morning a police helicopter was involved in the search, flying low over the Balgay hill area, with other teams of police officers searching on the ground.
William is described as five foot six inches tall, of slim build, has light brown hair and blue eyes.
A spokesperson for Police Scotland said: “If you were in the area at the time and saw a male matching this description or if you have any information that can assist us in tracing William, please contact Police Scotland on 101, or speak with any police officer.”
