Police say they are “concerned” for a Dundee teenager who has been missing since Thursday morning.
Fifteen-year-old William Dixon was last seen near Harris Academy at 9am on Thursday.
He was wearing a maroon Harris school blazer, school tie, white shirt, black Nike trainers and a black Nike school bag.
A police appeal has been shared on social media over 2000 times, with heartfelt messages from friends, family and strangers urging William to get in touch with someone he knows.
One social media user said: “William please get in touch with someone that you know and let them know where you are.
“Your family are worried sick. So are everyone else. I hope your home safe and well soon.”
Another added: “William, nothing is ever as bad as we imagine it to be.
“Whatever is troubling you it can be fixed. There is so much kindness being extended to you so because you are worth it.”
Friends had hoped to locate the teenager with the aid of Snapchat’s location tracking feature, but William is said to be in “ghost mode”, meaning no one can see his current whereabouts.
A police helicopter involved in the search flew low over the Balgay hill area on Friday, and was also spotted around the Perth Road area.
Meanwhile officers have also been searching on the ground.
William is described as five foot six inches tall, of slim build, has light brown hair and blue eyes.
A spokesperson for Police Scotland said: “If you were in the area at the time and saw a male matching this description or if you have any information that can assist us in tracing William, please contact Police Scotland on 101, or speak with any police officer.”
