A Dundee man has chosen to surprise his other half with tickets to see Gary Barlow in their home city – through The Courier itself.
Greg Page waited in line outside the city’s Box Office on Friday morning in the hopes of snapping up briefs to see the X Factor and Take That star in the Caird Hall.
The supermarket manager managed to grab two tickets, doing so without the knowledge of his wife Zee – a hardcore Barlow fan.
And after being approached by The Courier yesterday morning Mr Page said he planned on telling his partner about the tickets by showing her a copy of Saturday’s newspaper itself by way of an early birthday treat.
When asked what he would like to tell Zee, Greg said: “Happy Birthday when it comes and I hope you enjoy the evening.”
The 32-year-old Dundonian added: “It is a surprise for my wife’s birthday, she is a big Take That fan. We went to see Take That a few years ago at Hampden. It will be a nice surprise.
“I tried to get tickets on Thursday but it had sold out. I said I have to go and try it this morning. I thought I’d get it as a surprise.
“It is quite encouraging getting him in Dundee, I haven’t been to anything for a while. I went to see Stereophonics the other month and it was really good.”
