A woman was assaulted close to the Seagate bus station on Monday evening by a man described as having an Irish accent.
The woman, who is in her 50s, was approached by the man who then went on to assault her on Trades Lane at around 7.10pm.
Police are appealing for people who may have witnessed the assault, which happened on the busy street which connects the Seagate with the South Marketgait dual carriageway.
She suffered a minor injury to her neck and although she did not require medical treatment, was understandably left shaken by the incident.
Officers from Police Scotland are keen to trace a man described as being around 5 feet 2 inches tall, with short hair, was wearing a grey top and who spoke with an Irish accent.
A spokesperson for the police said: “If anyone has information which could assist with our enquiry, please call 101 or speak with any Police officer.
“Information can also be given anonymously via Crime Stoppers on 0800 555 111. Our reference is CR/27680/17.”
