Police are appealing for help in tracing four men suspected of carrying out an assault on a busy Dundee street.
Officers say a pedestrian was attacked by a group of men on Monday evening as he made his way along Lochee Road, close to Dudhope Terrace.
In an unprovoked attack, the 40-year-old victim was left with facial injuries and required hospital treatment.
Officers would like to trace the attackers, all described as being between 16 to 20 years old.
Two of the attackers are described as wearing a black jacket and jeans with a grey zip-up and a hoodie with jeans respectively.
A police spokesperson said: “We would also like to trace a specific potential witness, a motorist who was driving a black car and was seen to stop and speak to one of the persons responsible.
“This incident started on the pavement and spilled onto the road, stopping traffic.
“Even at that time of day, this is a busy road and junction, and it is hoped someone may have seen the incident and can provide us with more information.
“If you have any information which could assist with this investigation, please call 101 or speak with any Police officer. Also, information can be given anonymously through Crime Stoppers on 0800 555 111. Our reference is CR/29800/17.”
