An elderly man involved in a road collision close to Lochee High Street on Tuesday has died.
The 80-year-old pedestrian was involved in a one vehicle collision with a grey Honda Accord shortly after 7pm on Tuesday evening on Gray’s Lane, suffering serious injuries as a result.
Authorities said they could not name the victim until formal identification had taken place.
A spokesperson for Tayside division Police Scotland said: “Police, along with other emergency services, attended Lochee High Street on Tuesday evening at about 7:25 pm following reports of a one vehicle road traffic collision involving a grey Honda motorcar and an elderly pedestrian.
“The elderly pedestrian sustained serious injuries and was conveyed to Ninewells hospital for treatment. The driver of the car was uninjured.
“Sadly the 80-year-old male pedestrian died in hospital. He will not be named until formal identification has taken place.
“Police Scotland are carrying out a full investigation into the circumstances of the collision and a report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.
“Tayside division officers appeal to anyone who witnessed the collision to contact Police Scotland on 101 or speak to any officer quoting incident number 3116 of 14/11/2017.”
