Police are appealing for witnesses after two armed robbers attempted to hold up a Dundee petrol station.
The duo made off empty handed after attempting to raid the Sainsbury’s petrol Station at Tom Johnston Road shortly after 10.30pm.
Both men presented weapons to staff and demanded money after entering the store, however, staff raised the alarm and the pair fled.
The masked raiders were last seen running towards Baldovie Road across the car park of the main Sainsbury’s store where they met up with a male on a mountain bike before being lost to sight.
An urgent appeal for witnesses has now been launched by police in an attempt to trace those responsible.
The first male responsible for the crime is described as a white, 5’3 in height, of medium build wearing a black North Face jacket , black tracksuit bottoms and he was wearing a mask.
The second male is described as white, 5’0 in height, of skinny build wearing a black North Face jacket , grey jogging bottoms and was also wearing a mask.
The third person on the mountain bike was wearing a navy blue zip up jacket with a fur lined hood and grey tracksuit bottoms.
