Police are hunting for a man who threw a bottle containing flammable liquid which was set on fire at a car in Douglas.
A red Volkswagon Up on Baldovie Terrace was targeted in the attack, which did not set the car on fire but did cause significant external damage.
Officers are looking for a man who was spotted igniting the bottle before launching it at the car on Monday November 27, shortly after 11.10pm.
He is described as male, five foot 10 inches tall and was said to be wearing a grey hooded sweatshirt and grey tracksuit bottoms.
A spokesperson for Police Scotland said: “While it is appreciated that this happened over a week ago and was quite late at night, the consequences of this incident could have been horrendous.
“It is hoped that someone in the area may have seen the described person running off, or otherwise know who they are.
