A driver had a lucky escape after overturning his car and hitting a lamp-post under the Tay Road Bridge in the early hours of Saturday morning. It is understood the motorist clipped the kerb while driving east on the A991 ring road shortly after midnight. His Ford Focus was flipped onto its side and careered into the lamp-post but the driver escaped without injury. Police were called and Dundee City Council were also notified about the incident so they could make the lamp-post safe. A vehicle recovery company were called to retrieve the stricken vehicle. No other vehicles were involved in the incident.
