Part of a Dundee infirmary has been closed to new admissions following a flu outbreak.
A “small number” of patients in ward one of Ninewells Hospital have influenza and are being “monitored” to prevent spread of the bug.
The busy cardiology unit has 30 beds in it.
An NHS Tayside spokeswoman said: “Ward one at Ninewells Hospital is closed to new admissions due to a small number of patients who have influenza.
“Patients in the ward are being monitored and appropriate infection control and prevention measures are in place.
“To help reduce the spread of infection, people are asked to avoid visiting if possible and visitors who have coughs and colds which could be flu are asked not to visit friends and relatives until they are better.
