He is understood to have sustained head injuries and is currently undergoing treatment at Ninewells Hospital. Police Scotland is appealing for anyone who may have seen the male, who was wearing a green bomber jacket, walking around the area at around 3.35am. Officers were called to the scene near Albert Street shortly after that time. A police source said: “We are in the early stages of an investigation into a male found with unexplained injuries on the street.” A man was seen being escorted by plain-clothed police officers from a nearby flat at around 8.15am. Road closures remain on Albert Street between McGill Street and Arthurstone Terrace. Diversions have been put in place and drivers are asked to avoid the area at this time. Witnesses who contact police are asked to quote the reference number ‘0683 of 7th January’. More to follow.
