Police officers and paramedics were called to Cowgate at noon, outside the nightclub Deja Vu, following reports that a man had collapsed. Three police cars and a road ambulance were sent to the scene. Officers maintained a cordon on the street following the incident. A 42-year-old man was taken to Ninewells Hospital. There were no details on his condition. Officers sealed off the street where the man, believed to be from Latvia, was found. It is understood the man regularly begged at that spot. A Scottish Ambulance spokesman said: “It was a 42-year-old male who was taken to Ninewells Hospital. It was at 12.03pm.”
