David West is alleged to have raped the woman between January 1 2007 and May 25 last year at addresses in Dundee and elsewhere. Prosecutors say the woman was “incapable as a result of a mental disorder of consenting to the sexual conduct”. West, 69, of Archer Street, Dundee, appeared in private on petition at Dundee Sheriff Court. During a brief hearing he made no plea and his solicitor, John Boyle, asked for bail. Sheriff Lorna Drummond QC continued the case for further examination and released West on bail meantime ahead of further court dates being set.
