A 67-year-old man has been charged with licensing offences after a ‘fake taxi’ was allegedly operating in Dundee.
Police Scotland launched an investigation after reports that a car was operating without a licence in the city emerged.
A person can be prosecuted for plying for hire without a license to do so and can also be charged for acting as a taxi driver in an unlicensed vehicle.
A spokesperson said: “Police Scotland can confirm that a 67 year old man has been charged with licensing offences, in connection with reports of an unlicensed taxi operating in Dundee City Centre.”
The matter is to be reported to the Procurator Fiscal.
