Three police vans swooped on a Dundee city centre office block on Sunday afternoon.
Officers, including a dog unit, were sent to the city’s Caledonian House at 2.15pm following reports of damage to one of the front doors into the Greenmarket building.
A door was discovered “badly damaged” with panes of glass smashed.
However officers concluded that no one had gained entry to the building.
A police spokesman said: “Police Scotland attended at Caledonian House, Greenmarket, Dundee, shortly after 2:15pm yesterday (Sunday 4) in response to reported damage to one of the front doors.
“The door was found to have been badly damaged, with glass panes broken.
“It does not appear that entry was gained to the building, and the incident is being treated as vandalism.”
