Dundee’s newest musical festival Carnival 56 has been scrapped after just one year, it has been revealed.
The inaugural festival took place in Camperdown Park in August last year with thousands of music fans watching star turns including Rudimental, Mark Ronson, The Charlatans and Hot Chip.
Those behind the decision said the cancellation was taken to explore other options in the future.
In a statement, a Carnival 56 spokesperson said:“We’d like to thank everyone who supported Carnival 56 in 2017.
“After much consideration the decision has been taken to not return the festival to Camperdown Park for 2018.
“We are taking a year off to explore the potential future direction of the show and hope to return in full effect in 2019. Until then, thanks to you all.”
