Dundee’s streets were practically deserted on Thursday morning during what is traditionally one of the busiest times of the day for traffic.
There were few cars taking to the city’s streets as a result of the “Beast from the East”, which brought several inches of snow to the area and forced all local schools to close their doors.
This footage shows some of Dundee’s busiest routes – including Clepington Road, Blackscroft, Albert Street, East Marketgait, the A991 and Perth Road – between 8am and 9am on Thursday morning.
Many adults were unable to reach workplaces with all Dundee and Angus College campuses and centres closed once again.
Dundee University remained open but with “reduced services”, though the Institute of Sport and Exercise (ISE) was shut.
Abertay University cancelled all classes and events, though the campus and library remains open to students. Staff were told not to travel and to work from home if possible.
