A Dundee policeman described his heartbreak over his brother’s disappearance in Hamburg – on the day he was due to get married.
Eamonn Colgan, 33, was due to marry his fiancee Susan Dolan on Friday.
But the couple, who live near Broughty Ferry, postponed their big day after Dundee United fan Liam Colgan, 29 went missing on Eamonn’s stag do in Hamburg on February 10.
Liam was supposed to be his brother’s best man at the wedding.
Dad-of-two Eamonn told the Scottish Sun: “Liam was really looking forward to the stag do and to embarrassing me in his wedding speech.
“He’d been travelling before to Australia and wanted to go travelling again.
“But when we had our two-year-old and announced our wedding, he postponed going away because he wanted to be here for that.”
The policeman added: “We will be getting married but we don’t know at the moment when it will be as we want him to be there.
“We will postpone it until we get him back. We’re hoping that’s very soon.”
Liam, a postman in Inverness, was last seen in Hamburgh’s Reeperbahn district on February 10.
Eamonn said: “A lot of people go missing in the Reeperbahn but usually they’ve just continued partying until they decide to go home.
“We knew straight away that was not what Liam had done. He is not someone who would take drugs or stay out partying.
“Liam planned the trip and had the football booked on the Saturday and a brewery trip for Sunday.
“Life doesn’t really bother him and he was never stressed or anything like that.”
