A Dundee mum barricaded herself into her bedroom with her child after a man broke into her home.
Kara Mitchell was woken up just after 5am on Saturday as she heard someone smashing the patio doors of her house on Barns Neuk, Emmockwoods.
A handbag with £100 in it, a set of house and car keys, as well as a kitchen knife, were taken during the raid.
A Police Scotland spokesman said: “Police Scotland is appealing for information about a theft by housebreaking which happened between 5am and 6am on Saturday, March 10 in Barns Neuk, Dundee.
“A house was broken into while the occupants were upstairs, and a number of items were stolen.
“Officers are investigating the possibility that the person responsible may have been in the area for some time, and we would ask anyone who saw or heard anyone acting suspiciously in the area that morning to contact us.
“If you have any information that may assist our investigation, please call 101 or speak with any Police officer.
“Also, information can be provided through Crime Stoppers on 0800 555 111. Our reference is CR/5628/18.”
