Police probe after thieves smash their way into city takeaway
ByDerek Healey and Jake Keith
More than £700 — including cash destined for charity — has been stolen from a Dundee takeaway.
Officers have launched a probe into the incident at the Golden Star restaurant in Teviotdale Avenue, Dundee.
The force believes the incident happened some time between 2:30am and 3:30am on Wednesday, March 14.
The roller shutter to the door of the premises had been blocked, preventing it fully closing.
It was then forced using a car jack or similar implement, before a glass pane in the door was smashed to gain entry.
A three-figure sum of cash was stolen.
Officers would like to trace a man, described as about 5ft 9, stocky build, wearing dark clothing and a balaclava, who was seen acting suspiciously in the vicinity at the time.
