A man is being sought as part of a probe into a “serious” sexual assault which took place on a Dundee street.
A woman in her 30s was the victim of the incident, which took place in a property on Morgan Street between 2am and 4am on Saturday morning.
There will be a large police presence in the area as the sexual assault is investigated.
The woman was uninjured but has been left “distressed” by the incident.
The force said a white man, aged between 30 and 40 and about 5ft 11in in height, may be able to “assist”.
He is said to have light brown hair, a stubble, a Scottish accent and to have been wearing a dark blue jacket, dark hoodie and light coloured jogging bottoms. The man is also believed to have either driven or been dropped off nearby by a small, dark-coloured vehicle.
Detective Inspector Ray Birnie, of Tayside Division’s CID, said: “We have received a report of a serious sexual assault which occurred in the early hours of this (Saturday) morning within a property in Morgan Street.
“Inquiries are ongoing into the incident and I would like to appeal to the public to come forward if they have information that which assist us.
“We are particularly keen to trace and speak to a man who has been described as white, aged 30-40, around 5’11”, thin build with light brown hair and stubble and who spoke with a Scottish accent.
“He would have been wearing a dark blue jacket, dark “hoodie” and light coloured jogging bottoms. He may have valuable information that could assist us. The male may have used a small, dark coloured vehicle or may have been dropped off by this vehicle.
“If anyone recalls hearing anything or seeing anything in the Morgan Street area, including any vehicles, between 2 and 4am on Saturday morning then I would ask them to contact us.
“The female victim was not physically injured, however she has obviously been left very upset and distressed by the incident.
“Specialist officers are currently providing support to her. There has been an ongoing police activity at the address and there will be additional high visibility patrols in the area for the time being.
“I would like to thank the local community for their patience whilst we deal with this incident and again ask that if they have any information that could assist us to please come forward.”
