Gary Barlow has caused a stir among fans after sharing snapshots of rehearsals with his band ahead of two highly-anticipated shows in Dundee and Perth.

The Take That star is due to play Perth Concert Hall on April 19 and Dundee’s Caird Hall on April 20 as part of a series of 34 gigs across the UK and Ireland.

Tickets for the Tayside shows went on sale in October last year.

A photo of Barlow rehearsing with his band was posted to his Twitter account on Friday.

He said: “Rehearsals continue. 10 beautiful musicians making fantastic music. Can’t wait to add the missing piece of this show…..the audience #gbsolo2018.”

On Wednesday the singer also shared a muted video of himself giving it his all while practising for the tour.

Speaking following the tour announcement in 2017, Barlow said: “I had such a lot of fun back in 2013 when I played those smaller venues because you’re so much closer to the fans.

“The audience always seem to love the intimacy of it all too. I’m also really looking forward to playing in a couple of cities I’ve never played before as well as getting a chance to meet the fans there.”

The Dundee visit comes almost two years after Gary last visited the city — surprising local woman Jill Campbell by appearing at her 30th birthday party at the Apex Hotel.

Unsurprisingly, Barlow’s army of loyal Twitter followers went crazy with excitement after he shared the snapshots of his rehearsals for the upcoming shows.

One or two may have got a bit too carried away…
