The stars of the local health service have been honoured at a celebration event in Dundee’s Apex Hotel.
The winners of NHS Tayside Staff Appreciation and Recognition (Star) Awards were announced after staff and members of the public were able to nominate individuals for going the extra mile in their jobs.
The categories for nominations were: outstanding individual (clinical); outstanding individual (non-clinical); outstanding team; innovation in practice; inspiring educator, and quality/service improvement.
A gold, silver and bronze winner was announced for each category.

The finalists were invited to the ceremony where the winners were presented with awards and certificates.
The event was hosted by Professor Jason Leitch, national clinical director, healthcare quality and strategy directorate with the Scottish Government.
John Brown, NHS Tayside chairman, said: “It has been fantastic to see the hard work and dedication of NHS Tayside staff recognised at this event. It is a great honour to be nominated by colleagues and members of the public and I would like to congratulate everyone who won an award, all of our finalists and nominees.”
Malcolm Wright, NHS Tayside chief executive, added: “The people of Tayside have really embraced these awards by nominating individuals, teams and services in their hundreds and this reflects the high regards our committed staff are held in by local communities. We know that being recognised in these awards is very much appreciated by staff and I would like to thank everyone who took the time to nominate.”
NHS Tayside worked in partnership with Tayside Health Fund, the Academic Health Science Partnership in Tayside and the Apex Hotel to deliver the Star Awards.
