A man has been charged in connection with a sexual assault that took place in Dundee’s city centre earlier this week.
Police Scotland has confirmed that a 32-year old man has been arrested and charged in connection with the serious sexual assault of a 22-year old woman during the early hours of Monday May 21.
The incident took place in St Paul’s Court, Seagate.
Temporary Detective Inspector Keith Duncan said: “We are aware that there may be concerns within the local community about this incident, but we are satisfied that this was an isolated incident and there is no wider threat or risk to the public.
“Our enquiries are continuing and we are keen to hear from anyone who was in the Seagate area late on Sunday into the early hours of Monday who saw or heard anything which they think may help our investigation.”
Anyone with information about the incident should call 101, quoting reference CR/12228/18.
A report will be sent to the Procurator Fiscal and the man is expected to appear at Dundee Sheriff Court on Thursday May 24.
