Broughty Ferry Traders’ Association (BFTA) has invited businesses from across the city to an informal networking session at Dundee’s “other waterfront” along the Esplanade.
Alice Kennedy, tourism officer of V&A Dundee as well as BFTA and Dundee and Angus Chamber of Commerce, will discuss how firms can connect with the new museum and what it could mean for business beyond the city centre.
Guests at Thursday evening’s meeting will also hear about tourism in the area from Visit Dundee and the newly launched Scotland’s Tay Country.
BFTA chairman Steve James said: “With the V&A opening later in the year, we want all our businesses working together to make sure that we’re making the most of the opportunities it will bring.
“If we can give visitors to the city a brilliant experience, including our smashing wee seaside town, it’s good news for everybody.
“This event is also an opportunity to build relationships with like-minded business folk in the blissful surroundings of the Glass Pavilion on Broughty Ferry’s beautiful Esplanade – maybe we’ll call it the original waterfront.”
Dundee and Angus Chamber of Commerce CEO Alison Henderson said: “We’re all about making business connections because we know that they are essential to a sustainable and vibrant local and national economy.
“We’re delighted to be working with BFTA to bring their members closer to other businesses in Dundee and Angus and to encourage everyone to optimise the opportunities presented by V&A Dundee and the waterfront project.”
