Emergency services were called to Riverside Drive opposite Tesco around 2.30pm. Police officers were able to pull the woman safely to shore using one of the life rings on the wall at Riverside Drive. It is not known how the woman came to be in the water. One man witnessed a police officer pulling over on the road and “running to grab a life ring”. It is understood she was not injured and did not require hospital treatment following her ordeal. Broughty Ferry RNLI Station was alerted to the incident. However, the woman was rescued before either of its boats could be launched.
