There was a large emergency service response this morning after reports of an “explosion” in the Greenmarket area of Dundee.
Police and fire crews raced to the scene and blocked off roads after the incident was reported at around 8.30am.
Nearby offices were evacuated and roads into and out of the busy commercial area were closed.
A police spokesman said: “This has been been confirmed as an electrical fault, which has affected neighbouring properties.
“SSE are currently dealing with this, however there may be considerable disruption in the area for some time while the problem is investigated and dealt with.
“Please try and stay away from the area if you can.”
