Police in Dundee are searching for a masked man who threatened staff before robbing a Broughty Ferry bookmakers on Monday.
Police swooped on the Brook Street branch of William Hill around 11.20am.
Police Scotland said a man in a black coat had made off with a quantity of cash.
It is not yet known if the robber was armed or not.
Witness Chris Watson, 28, said: “I just saw all the police arrive about 11 o’clock.
“They just appeared. There must have been at least five cars.
“They were round the back of the shop and they had the police dogs out too. The rumours are that it got robbed.”
Lawrence Juliussen added: “All I saw coming and I knew something was up.
“I was here for an hour beforehand and didn’t see anything but there were at least 10 police cars so it must be pretty big.”
A Police Scotland spokesman said that around 11.20am a man entered the bookmakers and threatened staff before making off with a quantity of cash.
The man was wearing black trainers, black trousers – possibly skinny jeans – and a black, waist-length waterproof jacket with the hood up.
While in the shop he was wearing a mask or balaclava.
Inspector Gavin McKinlay of Dundee CID said: “Officers are currently in the area making enquiries and reviewing CCTV.
“Brook Street is a busy place at this time of day, and there would have been many members of the public in the area enjoying the sunny weather.
“If anyone who was in the vicinity of Brook Street saw any part of this incident, or saw the described person anywhere in Broughty Ferry around that time, please call us on 101 or speak with any Police officer.”
