Plans have been submitted to the council to transform the site of an old school into an affordable housing scheme.
The Abertay Housing Association has unveiled proposals to build 43 homes on the site of the former Charleston Primary School on Dunholm Place.
The school closed in 2013 and the student body merged with nearby Lochee Primary School.
The houses, which have been designed by architects Oliver and Robb, are a mixture of terraced, semi-detached and detached two-storey buildings.
In addition, several cottage sized, wheelchair accessible dwellings have been included.
Proposals had been submitted and approved by the council earlier in the year, however the company decided to resubmit the plans to the local authority at the end of July.
In its design statement, Abertay Housing Association notes the homes will be built to exacting standards which ensure each dwelling is energy efficient, warm and low maintenance.
An independent flood audit was conducted as part of the planning submission and carried out by Scott Bennett Associates civil engineering firm.
Engineers confirmed the site was not prone to regular or significant flooding.
Affordable housing is defined as being of a reasonable quality that is obtainable and accessible to people on modest incomes.
The housing may be delivered as social rented accommodation, mid-market rented accommodation, shared ownership, shared equity or for sale at a discounted price.
Abertay Housing Association own more than 1,760 houses in Dundee and Angus – including around 280 retirement homes.
The plans follow a a number of affordable housing proposals submitted to the council earlier this month by other city housing associations.
If given the go-ahead, a new development by Hillcrest Housing Association would on the site of a former workshop and yard on South Side, Langlands Street would bring 16 new affordable homes.
In Coldside, Caledonia Housing Association were approved to build 30 affordable homes, comprised of a mix of 18 houses and 12 flats across two three-storey blocks.
