Police and firefighters have been called to Dundee city centre to deal with a loose window surround on a second-storey flat.
Three appliances from Blackness Road – two pumps and a height vehicle – arrived on Dock Street, near to where it meets Commercial Street, at about 2.30pm.
Fire crews inspected the window before opting to remove a large block of the unstable sandstone pillar.
The block was clearly of a significant weight and it took multiple members of the crew on an aerial platform to remove it and carefully place it on the pavement below.
A fire and rescue spokesman said there had been reports of a “an unstable column in the area”.
He said: “We have been called out to make a structure safe. It’s something about an unstable column in the area. Crews have only just arrived.
“We have two pumps and a height vehicle there.”
The roads around the building have been blocked off by police.
A Tayside Police Division spokesman said: “We have been notified of it. It’s not a police incident.”
