An art installation thanking First World War veterans has been installed in City Square today.
Created by artist Sarah Arnett, the eight-foot-high installation features illustrated letters spelling out the words “Thank You”.
And Dundonians are now able to write their own personal messages of thanks on to the work.
The Thank You 100 project is making its only Scottish stop in the City of Discovery as part of a tour that has already taken in London, Birmingham and Plymouth. It will head to Belfast, Liverpool and Swansea to complete the UK tour.
The project is a collaboration between Poppy Scotland and the British Legion and marks the 100th anniversary of the end of the First World War.
Was pleased this morning to support @poppyscotland and @LegionScotland including a civic event and a photocall in the City Square – you can't exactly miss the 8ft high letters spelling the words THANK YOU!

Illustrations on the letters show various aspects of how the conflict impacted lives in the UK, from the “Munitionettes” who served in weapons factories to Indian infantrymen on the Western Front.
Ms Arnett said: “It’s been an honour to work on such a meaningful project during the centenary year.
“Having recently researched my own family history during the war, I’m amazed by how much of the world around me is still so connected to that time.”
The statue was unveiled on the South Bank in London on August 3 to mark the start of the 100 day countdown to Armistice Day on November 11.
