A 37-year-old man has been arrested after three shops in Dundee were allegedly targeted by a knife-wielding robber on Sunday.
A spokesman for Police Scotland’s Tayside Division said the man is “currently assisting with inquiries” into the incidents.
A William Hill bookmakers in Buttars Loan was targeted around 1.35pm on Sunday.
Around 15 minutes later there was a similar incident in Ladbrokes on Perth Road followed by another at the Scotmid Co-Operative in Invergowrie around 2.05pm.
Police have said they believe all three incidents are linked.
Detective Sergeant Keir Smith, from Dundee CID, said: “Our investigation is at an early stage, and officers will be back in the relevant areas today conducting enquiries and reviewing CCTV footage.
“We would urge anyone who witnessed these incidents, were in the immediate vicinity, or drove through those areas and may have dashcam footage, to contact us.
“In particular, we would like to hear from anyone who saw a man at any of the three locations, described as in his late 30s, about 5ft 6, medium build, wearing a blue hoody, high viz jacket and a black balaclava.”
