Heavy traffic hit Dundee after the Tay Road Bridge was closed in both directions due to a “police incident”.
The force was called at 4.05pm following “concerns” for a man.
Traffic was brought to a standstill in the city as a result.
A police spokesman said there was “concerns for an individual” and officers were there ” negotiating”.
The bridge was reopened just before 5pm.
The Broughty Ferry RNLI were called out at 4.15pm but were not required.
The man was taken to hospital. He did not suffer any injuries.
Traffic Scotland earlier tweeted: “The Tay Road Bridge is currently closed in both directions due to a police incident, road users should use an alternative route at this time.”

It comes after an incident on the Tay Road Bridge caused chaos following a five-hour shutdown on Friday morning.
