A pair of Dundee United supporter groups have joined forces to tackle period poverty at Tannadice.
Fan groups ULT83 and ArabTrust are working together to provide free sanitary products for women visiting the stadium, making the club one of only a handful taking on the issue.
Funded by the groups, products will be available in the ladies’ toilets in two of the stands as well as in the Hegarty Suite from the match against Partick Thistle on August 25.
We are proud to be working with @arabtrust1909 to provide free sanitary products at the match on Saturday. Thank you to @dundeeunitedfc for supporting this! #PeriodPoverty pic.twitter.com/IRVAq0VUTt

Statistics show that one in 10 girls have been unable to afford sanitary products.
Kay Sievewright, ULT83 chairwoman, said: “This is an important campaign and we are so proud that ULT83 and ArabTrust have worked together to make this happen.
“It’s great that Dundee United have been one of the first clubs in Scotland to support this.”
Susan Batten, ArabTrust chairwoman, said: “We are delighted to be working to raise awareness around period poverty and hope that our female supporters will welcome this positive step.”
Since 2015, ULT83 have raised over £5,000 for local community causes as well as the Dundee United Youth Development Board and the Dundee United Community Trust.
ArabTrust have provided over £300,000 to Dundee United since 2003.
