Dundee trampoline centre to spring into action

Dundee’s new £1.5 million trampoline centre will open later this month.

The 37,000 square foot park will be based inside Soccerworld on Old Glamis Road, replacing four of the centre’s five-a-side pitches.

The park also features an aerial ninja obstacle course, super trampolines, foam pits, dodgeball and hanging bags.

It will be Ryze UK’s third Scottish venue alongside its centres in Glasgow and Edinburgh.

And it will be third time lucky for the company in Dundee, which saw two earlier bids to open centres elsewhere in the city bounced into touch.

Ryze originally sought to open their “jumper’s paradise” at the Stack Leisure Park in Lochee.

When these plans fell through they sought permission to create the trampoline park in Charles Bowman Avenue in Claverhouse Industrial Estate.

However, this application was rejected by Dundee City Council as they were not in line with planning policies for the area, which designated the site as a principal economic development area.

Ryze then submitted new plans to create the centre in Soccerworld, alongside a new cafe, in August.

The plans were approved in November and work began transforming Soccerworld in May.

A spokesman for Ryze said contractors are finishing work in the site and the exact opening date will be announced shortly – but they expect the centre to spring into action before the end of September.

He said: “Our new park in Dundee is set to be one of our most outstanding yet.

“We’ve really gone all out and have created and unique activity centre that will bring joy to the people of Dundee.

“The park boasts almost 40,000 square feet of action packed fun featuring a sea of oversized trampolines, a giant stuntman airbag, ninja obstacle course, foam pits, a giant inflatable and more.”

Ryze already operates more than 25 similar facilities across the world including in continental Europe, America and Asia.

Ryze Dundee will be open from 10am to 9pm Mondays to Saturdays and from 10am to 6pm on Sundays.
