Young patients from the high dependency unit at Ninewells Hospital earned their racing stripes on Saturday.
Twenty-five children from Ward 29 and their families were treated to a day of high-octane action at Crail Airfield, courtesy of the charity Supercar Kidz.
Set up by Dundee jeweller Stephen Henderson, the charity gives children the chance to ride in some of the fastest cars on the planet.
Now in its 11th year, it brings supercar owners from across the country to Crail Airfield where they chauffeur the youngsters around the track.
Cars taking part in this year’s event included Ferraris, Aston Martins and Lamborghinis.
Mr Henderson said: “I’m just trying to give something back as I have been through cancer myself.
“We invite kids and their families for a day out to give them a bit of a break from their treatment at Ninewells.
“We had about 25 kids and members of their families along this year.”
Mr Henderson said the generosity of Victoria Robertson, owner of Crail Airfield, and the owners of the cars made the day possible.
“It really wouldn’t happen without Victoria Robertson, who lets us use the airfield for the day,” he said.
“I’ve built up a network of drivers over the years. It’s people who enjoy driving their cars and want to do something for charity.”
