A woman was thrown to the ground and robbed after being followed on Friday night in Dundee.
The 56-year-old was attacked at around 6.30pm on Elmwood Road, just off busy South Road in Lochee.
The attacker stole the victim’s cream handbag and left her with minor injuries, according to police.
The person responsible is described as being aged in his 30’s, 5″8 inches tall , wearing a dark jumper with hooded top underneath the jumper.
The hood was observed to have lime green lines all over it in grid type pattern. He was also wearing blue denim jeans.
Enquiries have revealed that shortly before the crime occurred, the person responsible was spotted on the footpath that runs alongside the South Road football pitches to the east of the Tesco store.
At that time the male was observed talking to a potential witness who is described as being in an electric wheelchair and was wearing a red t-shirt.
Detective Sergeant Mark Lamont, Tayside Division CID, say police are seeking help from the public “as a matter of urgency”.
He said: “We are appealing for any witnesses who may recognise the description of the person responsible or have any information regarding this crime to contact the police as a matter of urgency.
“I am specifically appealing for the witness in the electric wheelchair to come forward as they may have information that may be crucial to the enquiry.
