An elderly woman’s bag was stolen while she loaded shopping into her car in a Dundee supermarket.
The theft occurred in the car park outside Asda Milton Of Craigie on Friday October 19.
A spokesperson for the Tayside division of Police Scotland said the handbag had been on the bag hook of the shopping trolley.
He said: “Although their attention was only averted for a matter of seconds, the bag was taken.
“Unfortunately as the car park was busy at the time, they do not have any description of anyone who could be responsible.
“CCTV has confirmed that the bag was still with them when they left the store, and has definitely been stolen outside. Unfortunately, the incident itself was not caught on camera.
“This took place in the “parent and child” spaces at the front of the building, at the northern end of the car park near to Longtown Road.
“As we mentioned, the car park was busy with customers at the time. If you think you may have seen this incident, or perhaps saw someone running away along Longtown Road, please let us know.
“If you have any information that could assist our enquiries, please call 101 or speak with any police officer. Also, information can be given anonymously through Crime Stoppers on 0800 555 111. Our reference is CR/25565/18.”
