Police in Dundee have responded to speculation on social media of a gang fight involving knives in Camperdown on Friday evening.
One social media post which was shared over 700 times suggested “big fights involving knives” at McDonald’s at the Camperdown Leisure Park off Kingsway.
A spokesman for Police Scotland said officers were called following a report of a large group of youths gathering in the area.
He said the youths involved “positively engaged” with officers and dispersed from the scene.
He said no crimes were detected.
He scotched suggestions there were people armed with knives.
Police did remain in the area for a time.
There has been trouble at the leisure park in the past.
A couple of months ago footage emerged of a security guard being punched and kicked by a group of youths at the McDonald’s restaurant.
