A man has been charged after a street in Dundee was put in “lockdown” for much of Sunday.
Ann Street in the Hilltown was the scene of intense police activity throughout the day after reports of a disturbance in the early hours.
Emergency services were first called to the scene at around 3am on Sunday morning.
Ambulance and fire and rescue teams were also seen in the area, with some residents describing the street as being in “lockdown”.
However, Police Scotland move to deny rumours that someone had died in the incident, saying this was “not true”.
In an update issue shortly after midnight this morning, a spokesman said: “Police Scotland can advise that a 27-year -ld male has been arrested and charged in connection with a disturbance at a property in Ann Street, Dundee on Sunday.
“A report will be sent to the procurator fiscal.”
The spokesman added: “Police Scotland would like thank the public, in particular the local community and residents for their co-operation and patience whilst this incident was ongoing.”
