NHS Tayside is joining a national celebration of occupational therapists to highlight their vital work.
Occupational Therapy Week, an annual celebration of the field, runs until Sunday.
There are more than 190 occupational therapists in NHS Tayside, working with patients across Angus, Dundee and Perth and Kinross.
They help people live more independent lives following injury, disability or illness by drawing up individual treatment plans, working on patients’ physical, psychological and emotional wellbeing.
And on November 9 there will be an information stand at Ninewells Hospital, between 9am-3pm. Members of the occupational therapy team will be on hand to give information.
Nicola Richardson, NHS Tayside education lead, said: “Occupational therapists have a crucial role to play in our multi-disciplinary team.
“National evidence shows they have a role in preventing unnecessary admissions to hospital, they can ease the patient’s journey and also assist in timely, appropriate and safe discharge home.
“Our therapists work with all ages of the population of Tayside and in both healthcare and community settings, delivering services in both health and social care.
“This week gives us the ideal opportunity to celebrate and recognise the vital work carried out by teams across Tayside.”
