Traffic in parts of the city centre were at a standstill this morning as SSE dealt with the aftermath of yesterday’s electrical fire.
Traffic was reduced to one lane in East Dock Street as engineers carried out “remedial work” on an underground cable fault.
It is expected that the work will be wrapped up by about 11am.
A Bear Scotland spokeswoman confirmed they “allowed access” to SSE this morning to work on a line. Fire crews were called to an electrical fire on East Dock Street, between Market Street and Broughty Ferry Road, around 10.40am on December 4.
Motorists were advised to avoid the area immediately after the incident.
A SSE spokeswoman said: “We would like to apologise to load road users affected by remedial works on East Dock Street following an underground cable fault.
“We’d like to thank the local community for their patience as we carry out these essential works.”
