September 15 saw the official opening of the jewel in the crown of Dundee’s £1 billion waterfront development – the V&A Dundee.

Young people from mentoring charity Breakthrough were among the first visitors to the £80.1 million design museum, which was designed by Japanese architect Kengo Kuma, and attracted more than 250,000 visitors in its first two months.
Inside the V&A
Primal Scream headlined the 3D Festival to mark the launch while First Minister Nicola Sturgeon described the museum as “world class”.

It’s the first V&A outside of London and its temporary exhibition space is Scotland’s largest. The galleries’ centrepiece is the restored Charles Rennie Mackintosh Oak Room.
