Legendary British supergroup The Rutles are set to play a rare gig in Dundee next year.
The Beatles parody group, Neil Innes, also known as Ron Nasty, and drummer John Halsey, AKA Barrington Womble, will perform at Clarks on North Lindsay Street on May 28.
The Rutles were created by comedian Eric Idle and Neil Innes for the 1970s television programme Rutland Weekend Television.
The group parodied both the look and the sound of The Beatles and starred in the mockumentary All You Need is cash, which featured George Harrison.
The film also featured a host of musicians and comedians including Mick Jagger, Bill Murray, Paul Simon, John Belushi, Dan Ackroyd and Idle’s fellow Monty Python veteran Michael Palin.
Tickets cost £20 and are available from Clarks, Groucho’s and Assai Records in Broughty Ferry.
Neil Innes was a founding member of the Bonzo Dog Doo-Dah Band and also appeared in The Beatles’ film Magical Mystery Tour.
As well as acting and playing in The Rutles, Halsey drummed on a number of albums, including Lou Reed’s Transformer.
