A hapless raider was chased off from two Dundee homes during attempted break-ins on Wednesday morning.
Police said it is likely the two incidents, which occurred in the Perth Road/Roseangle area of Dundee, are likely to be linked.
In the first incident a man was disturbed trying to get in through a window of an address in Perth Road around 2.45am.
About 45 minutes late an intruder was disturbed after breaking into a house in Westfield Place.
He had removed items from a drawer but ran off empty handed in the direction of Perth Road.
The person disturbed at Westfield Place is described as a white male, slim build and unshaven, wearing a baseball cap and a dark jacket, carrying a rucksack and another white bag.
A spokesman for Police Scotland said: “We would also like to take this opportunity to remind everyone in the area to make sure your doors and windows are closed and locked, particularly at night.
“It takes literally seconds for someone to get into your home and rummage through a room. The harder you make it for them, the more likely they will leave your property alone.”
